Since the limited access within shafts, we are extending our tests for single-sided application. Both insulated and non-insulated PEX water lines up to a diameter of 20 mm have been tested and classified EI 60 minutes. Mulcol Multisealant GR, our graphite-based intumescent sealant, is applied single-sided around the water line or insulation at a width of 10 mm, over the full depth of the wall (30 mm).
The service penetration seal is fire-resistant from the board side and consists of two layers of 15 mm plasterboard according to EN 520, or calcium silicate with the same thickness. The shaft wall may be applied with or without insulation.
